Hania Rani is an award-winning composer and pianist known for blending classical and experimental music. Her new work, Non Fiction, recorded at Abbey Road Studios with a 45-piece orchestra, marks her shift from the electronic palette of Ghosts to a more symphonic language. The piece is her first piano concerto and symphonic composition, inspired by the wartime works of young prodigy Josima Feldschuh from the Warsaw Ghetto. Drawing parallels to current crises in Ukraine and Gaza, Rani reflects on how modern media shapes our perception of conflict. Through contrasting harmony and disorder, she creates a sonic metaphor for resilience and the endurance of the human spirit.

Hania Rani, born in 1990 in Gdańsk, Poland, began playing piano at seven and later trained as a classical pianist in Warsaw before exploring electronic music during her studies in Berlin. Now based in London, she is known for prioritizing artistic connection over fame and continually reinventing her work. Since her 2015 debut Biała Flaga with cellist Dobrawa Czocher, Rani has built an eclectic catalogue including solo piano albums such as Esja, the electronically influenced Ghosts, film and theatre scores, installations, and her first piano concerto. Her restless drive for renewal pushes her forward, fueled by a constant desire to improve.
