Violinist Marie Radauer-Plank’s Bach Sans Bach is a creative exploration of J.S. Bach’s enduring influence—without performing any of his music directly. Known for her refined artistry and curiosity, Radauer-Plank connects Bach’s legacy to composers across eras, from Westhoff’s Baroque suites and Khandoshkin’s Classical elegance to Ysaÿe’s Obsession and Honegger’s wartime tribute. The journey culminates with A Shelter for Imagining, a new work by Charlotte Bray. Through this imaginative program, Radauer-Plank reveals how Bach’s spirit continues to resonate through centuries of violin music, weaving an invisible yet powerful thread across time and style.

Born in Salzburg in 1986, violinist Marie Radauer-Plank began playing at age four and studied with Benjamin Schmid and Lukas Hagen at the Mozarteum before continuing under Ulf Schneider in Hanover and Augustin Dumay in Brussels. She has received artistic guidance from renowned musicians including Thomas Brandis, Hatto Beyerle, and the Artemis Quartet. Also trained in Baroque violin with Reinhard Goebel, she has performed with Concerto Melante and Ensemble Diderot. A prizewinner at several international competitions, including the Leipzig Bach Competition, Radauer-Plank appears internationally as soloist and chamber musician and performs on a 1746 Dom Nicolo Amati violin.
