Martines: The Complete Keyboard Works presents the first modern complete recording of the surviving keyboard music of Marianna Martines (1744–1812), a prominent yet underrepresented figure in eighteenth-century Viennese musical life. Led by Cayenna Ponchione-Bailey, with pianist Idith Meshulam Korman and the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, the recording includes four keyboard concertos, three sonatas, and a Sinfonia in C major, based on newly prepared critical editions. The works demonstrate Martines’s sophisticated style, blending lyrical expression with technical brilliance, inventive orchestration, and formal creativity, restoring her keyboard output as a significant contribution to the Classical repertoire.

Idith Meshulam Korman is a pianist and activist dedicated to championing overlooked composers, particularly women, a commitment exemplified by her recording of Marianna Martines’s complete keyboard works. A child prodigy who made her concerto debut at nine, she later developed a strong focus on contemporary music, earning a doctorate from New York University, where she researched unpublished works by Stefan Wolpe. She collaborated with Gunther Schuller on recordings of Nikos Skalkottas and has released acclaimed albums featuring Laura Kaminsky. Founder of Ensemble π, she also curates festivals, serves arts organizations, and teaches at Bard College, including through the Bard Prison Initiative.
