Peter Breiner is not only a composer, conductor, and pianist but also an experienced political commentator, having written columns and hosted broadcast programs for nearly three decades. His work Angry Piano Music for Desperate Times—or The Ill-Tempered Clavier features twenty-four preludes for solo piano that reflect a spectrum of emotions, from anger to sorrow and nostalgia, shaped by his observations of global events. Peter Breiner (b. July 3, 1957, in Humenné, present-day Slovakia) is a highly accomplished composer, conductor, pianist, and arranger, recognized as one of the world’s most recorded musicians, with over 150 albums and more than 1.5 million copies sold. Educated at the Conservatory in Košice and the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava under Alexander Moyzes, he developed a distinctive, genre-blending style. Breiner has conducted leading orchestras worldwide and gained acclaim for his inventive arrangements, including the popular Baroque series. His work spans concert music, film, and television, while his versatility as a performer and communicator underscores a dynamic and influential international career.
