El Cielo 2020, a specialist ensemble dedicated to Piazzolla’s music, presents their second film music album, Cinema Nostalgia II ~ FATUM, focusing on the legacy of Japanese cinema. A highlight is the newly authorized recording of “Destiny” from The Castle of Sand, arranged for piano, strings, and flute, offering a contemporary reinterpretation of the original composition after more than 50 years. The two-disc album features 16 tracks, including works by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Toru Takemitsu, and Takashi Yoshimatsu. Through refined tension and expressive performances, El Cielo 2020 revitalizes these iconic pieces with renewed emotional depth and dramatic nuance.
