Cuarteto Latinoamericano is a renowned Mexican string quartet founded in 1981 and internationally recognized for promoting Latin American classical music. Comprised of the Bitrán brothers—Saúl, Arón, and Álvaro—alongside violist Javier Montiel, the ensemble has toured extensively across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania. The quartet has premiered more than 100 contemporary works and collaborated with distinguished musicians such as Manuel Barrueco and Gabriela Lena Frank. Celebrated for its recordings of composers including Heitor Villa-Lobos and Alberto Ginastera, the group has earned multiple and other international honors, solidifying its reputation as a leading interpreter and advocate of Latin American chamber music.
