In early 1716, Antonio Vivaldi solidified his dominance in Venetian opera with the premiere of La costanza trionfante degl’amori e degl’odii at the newly reopened Teatro San Moisè. Competing against established patrician theaters, Vivaldi acted as both composer and impresario, using Antonio Marchi’s politically resonant libretto and a talented cast of emerging singers to achieve exceptional artistic success. His innovative score introduced a new operatic language, leveraging imaginative orchestration, rhythmic propulsion, and daring harmonies to elevate dramatic intensity. The opera’s enduring international impact is evidenced by numerous European revivals and adaptations, cementing Vivaldi's pivotal role in the evolution of Baroque opera.

Swiss conductor and organist Diego Fasolis is a leading figure in historically informed performance. After completing advanced musical studies in Zurich, Paris, and Cremona, he achieved international acclaim in 1993 as Chief Conductor of the Swiss Radio and Television ensembles. In 1998, he founded the period-instrument orchestra I Barocchisti, and later established a foundation to support young musicians. Renowned for rediscovering forgotten operatic repertoire, Fasolis collaborates extensively with mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli, maintains a vast discography of over 120 recordings, and regularly conducts at premier global opera houses, including La Scala, the Versailles Royal Opera, and Zürich Opernhaus.
