Born in Katowice in 1971, composer Mikołaj Górecki trained in violin and piano before graduating with honors from the Katowice Music Academy, where he studied under his father, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. He expanded his training with fellowships at Canada's Banff Centre and earned a doctorate from Indiana University. An accomplished academic, Górecki has served on the faculties of McGill University and Laredo Community College. His award-winning compositions have been performed globally at prestigious venues, including New York's Lincoln Center. Beyond his original orchestral works, Górecki notably prepared and edited his late father's Fourth Symphony for its 2014 world premiere by the London Philharmonic.

Hailed as one of history's most decorated Polish flautists, Łukasz Długosz is an acclaimed soloist and chamber musician who graduated from top institutions in Munich, Paris, and Yale. A laureate of prestigious competitions like the Jean Pierre Rampal, he regularly performs in elite venues, including Vienna’s Musikverein, under legendary conductors such as Zubin Mehta and Krzysztof Penderecki. Długosz debuted with the London Symphony Orchestra and has received numerous ICMA awards. Dedicated to expanding contemporary repertoire, he has premiered nearly 60 new works and champions Polish flute literature globally through masterclasses and his innovative digital project, Flautoforte.
