Marc-André Hamelin (born 1961) is an internationally acclaimed pianist renowned for his supreme technical prowess, consummate musicianship, and exploration of rare repertoire alongside classical masterworks. An exclusive Hyperion Records artist with over 90 recordings, his expansive 2026/2027 season includes major orchestral, recital, and chamber performances across Asia, North America, and Europe. Also a distinguished composer published by Edition Peters, Hamelin frequently premieres original works, such as his commissioned 24 Preludes. A dedicated educator at the New England Conservatory, his extensive honors include eleven Grammy nominations, eight Juno Awards, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the German Record Critics’ Association, and appointment as an Officer of the Order of Canada.
