This album presents a meticulous electronic reimagining of fourteen J. S. Bach fugues, utilizing Arturia’s software instrument collections to recreate iconic vintage keyboards and 1980s synthesizers. Drawing on signature sounds associated with artists like Stevie Wonder, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, and Elton John, including the Clavinet, Wurlitzer, Rhodes, DX7, Minimoog, and Fairlight, each work was individually sculpted note by note via computer programming. Fulfilling a lifelong fascination that began in the artist's youth with early synthesizer experiments, the project bridges classical rigor with rock and pop soundscapes, offering a fresh, modern perspective on Bach's counterpoint through forty years of evolving electronic technology.

French composer Pierre Charvet (b. 1968) studied at the Manhattan School of Music, where he earned the 1991 Jon Woolley award, and subsequently entered Paris’s IRCAM at age twenty-three. Later serving as a composition professor in New York, his catalog spans instrumental works, film scores, and technology-driven compositions, including the Universal Classics release L'invitation au voyage. Charvet’s artistic approach balances modern electroacoustic innovation with traditional counterpoint inspired by J.S. Bach. Beyond composing, he is an active educator, author, and broadcast host, having created programs such as Presto! for French national television and La musique de Maître Pierre for Mezzo.

High Resolution 24-bit / 96 kHz
