Collaborating alongside esteemed partners including the Elias String Quartet, Gould Piano Trio, tenor James Gilchrist, pianist Tim Horton, and percussionist Rhys Herbert, Plane celebrates the vivid imagination, rich variety, and enduring creative partnerships behind these dynamic commissioned pieces.

Acclaimed clarinettist Robert Plane is a long-standing champion of British composers, celebrated globally for his award-winning recordings and dynamic concert performances. His discography includes a Classic CD ‘Concerto Recording of the Year’ award for Finzi’s Clarinet Concerto and a Gramophone-nominated album of Arnold Bax sonatas. Plane has premiered major concertos by Diana Burrell, Nicola LeFanu, Piers Hellawell, and Simon Holt, making his BBC Proms solo debut in 2011. Formerly principal clarinettist with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and Northern Sinfonia, he maintains an active international career as a soloist, chamber musician, and co-director of the Corbridge Chamber Music Festival.
