Soprano Miriam Feuersinger and the Capricornus Consort Basel explore the musical legacy of Anna Magdalena Wilcke, who married Johann Sebastian Bach in 1721. Though a celebrated court singer, Anna Magdalena was barred from public performance following the family's move to Leipzig; nevertheless, Bach continued to write intricate soprano parts tailored to her exceptional vocal talent. Prominently featuring the wedding cantata "Weichet nur, betrübte Schatten," this program showcases Feuersinger’s coloratura expertise and deep Bach specialization, offering an intimate portrayal of Anna Magdalena’s artistry alongside her long-standing ensemble partners.

Austrian soprano Miriam Feuersinger (b. 1978) is a distinguished specialist in sacred music and the works of J.S. Bach. After graduating with honors from the Basel Music Academy under Professor Kurt Widmer in 2005, she established a vibrant concert career centered on Baroque and Classical repertoire. Feuersinger collaborates regularly with leading early music conductors—including Andrew Parrott and Rudolf Lutz—and prominent ensembles such as Capriccio Basel and La Cetra. A frequent performer at the Trogen Bach Foundation, her engagements span major European venues and festivals, including the Lucerne Festival, the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, and the Göttingen Händel Festival.
