Recorded live at the Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg, Musik der Romantik captures the acclaimed 2026 Epiphany Concert performed by the Salzburg Wind Philharmonic under founding chief conductor Hansjörg Angerer. Renowned for its distinctive sound culture and refined interpretations, the world-leading ensemble presents a rich program featuring works by Mendelssohn, Weber, Dvořák, and Shostakovich. The album showcases celebrated clarinet soloist Wenzel Fuchs, former principal clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic and current professor at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Combined with Fuchs’s masterful artistry, this release highlights the orchestra's exceptional two-decade legacy of internationally recognized recordings and expressive musical excellence.

The Salzburg Wind Philharmonic emerged from the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg, founded in 2002 by Hansjörg Angerer at the Mozarteum University. Bringing together faculty, students, and graduates, the ensemble was created to perform original wind compositions and symphonic arrangements at a level comparable to major orchestras, thereby advancing the symphonic wind repertoire. Under Angerer’s artistic leadership, the orchestra developed a distinctive sound and achieved significant artistic success in concerts and recordings. In 2022, it became an independent, non-profit organization under its current name, continuing its mission to promote art and culture at the highest professional standard.
