Maksimal presents three major works by Daniel Temkin, exploring connections between memory, place, and physical experience through vivid musical imagery. At the center is the violin concerto Maksimal, performed by Francisco Fullana with Ryan McAdams and the Maksimal Ensemble, combining virtuosic solo writing with energetic ensemble interplay inspired by Baroque concerto traditions. Dreamed Landscapes, performed by Ryan MacEvoy McCullough, evokes galaxies, glaciers, and canyon vistas through color and resonance rather than literal depiction. The program concludes with Ocean’s Call, performed by the Aizuri Quartet, a reflective work inspired by the atmospheric power and serenity of California’s Pacific coastline.

Daniel Temkin (b. 1986) is an award-winning composer and percussionist recognized for music distinguished by vivid color, emotional intensity, and lyrical subtlety.
