Inspired by a collection of world music pieces originally composed for his young son, Dušan Bogdanović expanded this project after hearing the duo of Antigoni Goni and Eleonora Perretta perform together. The resulting programme reflects a rich diversity of folk traditions, ranging from 17th-century chanson and Irish fiddle jigs to Dalmatian songs, Sephardic melodies, south-eastern Iranian dances and Balinese rhythmic music. Blending cultural influences with refined artistry, the collection also includes arrangements of three celebrated Neapolitan songs, adding a familiar and accessible dimension to this vibrant exploration of global musical heritage.

Dušan Bogdanović, born in Yugoslavia in 1955, is an acclaimed composer, improviser and guitarist whose work blends classical, jazz and diverse ethnic musical traditions. He studied composition and orchestration at the Geneva Conservatory with Pierre Wissmer and Alberto Ginastera, alongside guitar performance studies with Maria Luisa Anido Sao Marcos. Following his 1977 Carnegie Hall debut recital, Bogdanović established an international career as both a soloist and chamber musician. He has held teaching positions at the Geneva Conservatory, the University of Southern California and the San Francisco Conservatory, while developing a distinctive compositional voice known for its stylistic diversity and innovative musical synthesis.
