The Prague Spring International Music Competition, founded in 1947, is a prestigious annual event for young musicians under the age of 30, featuring multiple performance categories and offering winners both prize money and performance opportunities at the following year’s festival. Its oboe category has historically produced notable laureates such as Jan Adamus and Liběna Séquardtová, alongside other distinguished winners. Among more recent laureates is Fedor Osver (born 2003), who studied in Moscow at the Gnessin State Music School and the Moscow Conservatory. A prizewinner of several major international competitions, he has performed with ensembles such as the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and appeared at festivals including the Verbier Festival, establishing himself as a rising figure in the international oboe scene.
